Sahara

Taking the Herb Ritts concept we did in the studio earlier in the month with Anne Duffy, I wanted to use an outdoor environment that was as close to possible as a studio and also one that was minimal. I also chose to use midday sun, which made exposures tricky. So the sand dunes down at Cronulla was the perfect location that ticked all the boxes.

I contacted Nic Nyx for our 5th shoot and was confident Nic would be able to ad lib with the fabric. She did great. It's not easy to do that in an environment where there is nothing around you. When I looked through the images later I realised how clever she'd been with that fabric, especially combining the black and white pieces together in a way that worked incredibly well.
